Unscramble the words below. Hint: Each water droplet containing word(s) is an often overlooked area in or around your home that can be prone to or cause leaking.
Answer Key:
- Yard – If there’s a damp or wet spot in your yard where water is pooling and the rest of the area is dry, it could be the sign of a yard leak.
- Crawl Space – Water can occur in crawl spaces for a number of reasons including sewer backups, leaking pipes, or poor grading.
- Tree Roots – Tree roots can grow into your sewer pipes; often the first sign of this is slowly flowing drains in your toilet bowl.
- Hot Spots – Hot spots on your floor are generally caused by a leak somewhere nearby such as a leaking shower valve, bathtub valve or bathroom sink valve.
- Sink Rim – Sink leaks may or may not be a bit easier to spot. Causes can include: worn out caulking around the sink rim, a loose connection on a faucet or water supply, or an issue with the drain lines under the sink.
Did you find all the leaks? Congratulations!
Luckily, by taking a few simple precautions you may greatly reduce the chances of water damaging your home.
We lived in a dbl wide mobile home in Lewis Co, Ky. We ordered better windows &insulation packages and also added a small bottled gas fireplace for the Master BR & converted the wood burning fireplace that was built-n in the living room, to a bottle gas fireplace. Our utility bills were usually considerably less that nearby stick built houses. We had 2001 Sq Ft of usable space and it took me 3 years to fill up all the kitchen cabinets. We never had any problems and finally built a 3 car garage beside it and used matching siding. Looked really good too. In my opinion it was the best house we ever had lived in. We have our vehicles insured with AAA (Hartford) and the home was with Foremost which is a part of Hartford.
we lived in Lewis County,Ky for several years in a dble wide mobile home, 2001 Sq Ft of living space. It was better built than most stick built homes I have seen. We ordered the better windows and insulation packages and it took me 3 years to fill up all the kitchen cabinets. Our utility bills were less that most other nearby equivalent sized homes that were stick built. We did add a small fireplace for the master BR so when we had a power outage we still had heat and were comfortable. We also converted a built in wood burning fireplace in the living room to a bottle gas fireplace We also added a 3 car garage
built beside the house and used matching siding and we added a front porch with vinyl railings. This was the best home we have ever lived in for convenience, comfort and usable space. I will never turn my nose up to living in a mobile home again. It was great. We had Foremost Insurance too.

WHY DOESN’T HARTFORD INSURE MOBILEHOMES OR MANUFACTURED HOMES IN THE CONTRA COSTA AREA OF CALIFORNIA? THEY ALWAYS SEND ME BROCHURES TO INSURE MY HOME WITH AARP HARTFORD WHERE I HAVE MY AUTO INSURANCE, BUT YOU DON’T INSURE MINE, HOME INSURANCE COMPANIES DON;T INSURE THE LAND ANYWAY. SO WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE TO INSURE A MOBILE OR MANUFACTURED HOME WITH A LAND LEASE. I HAVE A 2BR 2BA MOBILEHOME WORTH $100,000.00 WITH AN ENCLOSED SUN PORCH , CAR PORT, JAZCUZZI SPA, TWO LARGE SHEDS, LANDSCAPED YARD WITH FRUIT TREES,IN A GORGEOUS WELL KEPT PARK IN THE BAY AREA. I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY HARTFORD IS MISSING OUT ON A VERY LARGE AND EXCLUSIVE MARKET IN THIS AREA. JUST GIVING YOU A CLUE. I AM INSURED WITH AARP FOREMOST WHICH DOES INSURE MOBILE & MANUFACTURED HOMES IN THIS AREA. WOULD LOVE TO GET THAT DISCOUNT TO BE INSURED AUTO AND HOME WITH HARTFORD. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO MY INQUIRY. SINCERELY, BEVERLY A. SOPETTI (*-*)…….

If you’d like to understand more detail on why we do not insure mobile homes, please call our customer service department at 1-877-896-9320 and one of our agents will be happy to help. Thank you!
